Dear Graduating class of 2017

The new phase of your life is about to begin – congratulations!
This is a joyous and exciting moment for all of you and we, NU Career and Advising Center along with your professors and NU staff would like to recognize your accomplishments and share your success.

Apart from the celebration, the graduation also represents the dawning era in your life- a departure from a “comfort zone” and entering a path filled with many challenges and uncertainties. The challenges that you will encounter should never be considered as insurmountable. In confronting them, you will draw on the many various skills you have garnered during your stay with us: the research and problem solving skills, the social skills, “I can overcome this if I put my mind into it” skill. As you begin your careers or continue your studies use these skills to navigate through new and unchartered waters.

Although you are graduating, you will always be a member of NU family. I encourage you to stay connected with your School, join the NU Alumni Association and give back by supporting our Mentorship and Ambassadors Programs. The continued involvement of our alumni has already strengthened the NU community.

Show example to our current students by the legacy that you are leaving behind- your academic contributions, your dedication to NU, and your desire to continuously learn and innovate. As recent graduates you maintain access to NU CAC career services including CAC CareerNet as an Employer or a Job seeker. We keep helping in fostering your professional and personal growth.

It was Albert Einstein who said that “Learning is not a product of schooling but the lifelong attempt to acquire it”. As you leave NU, I encourage you to keep your path of lifelong learning as this is the only way to succeed in the dynamic, globalized environment in which we live and work.

Dear NU students, faculty and staff

As the spring semester draws quickly to its end, I would like to congratulate you on another vibrant year we have lived through and worked together.

NU CAC has remained committed to supporting our students in their professional development. We conduct events, workshops, counsel and share resources to prepare them for professional environment and promote strong partnerships with NU community, alumni, and employers.

In the next several weeks, over seven hundred graduate and undergraduate students will receive degrees from Nazarbayev University. These diplomas certainly represent significant achievements by our students, but also represent years of dedicated efforts by the faculty who have taught, advised and mentored; the staff who have guided and supported them.
The end of the semester is always bittersweet. On the one hand, it’s sad to see students, grow. On the other hand, we are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their using strong foundation for bigger achievements.

Our alumni have become inspirations to all of us and role models for our students. They are clearly involved in promoting and nurturing Nazarbayev University. It’s important to students to see the career paths these individuals have taken and to gain insights into how they have achieved it. And, most important, they need to know that this is all possible. I am hopeful many more of our graduates will become involved with the University and the students. It truly makes a world of difference.

I wish all of you best of luck on the final push and have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Yevgeniya Kim
